About
Jamie L. Kahn, MD, MBA
Founder, Meridian Medical Advisory
Dr. Jamie Kahn is a board-certified emergency physician who has cared for adults and children in the South Bay for over 13 years at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Torrance. For the past 10 years she has also served as the hospital's EMS Base Station Medical Director, providing medical control for paramedics in the field and teaching the region's paramedics and mobile intensive care nurses.
Trained in both medicine and business at the University of California, Irvine, she has spent her career where clinical care, hospital operations and emergency systems meet: on hospital and county committees, in quality improvement, and in teaching.
Meridian grew out of personal experience. Navigating serious illness across the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute, UCLA, UC San Diego, City of Hope, Providence, Cedars-Sinai, Torrance Memorial and Hunt Cancer Institute, including a clinical trial, showed Dr. Jamie Kahn what families need that the system was never built to provide: one physician who sees the whole person, navigates the system, advocates for the patient, and keeps the care team informed and connected.

- Mentors students pursuing medicine and the health professions
Travel & dive medicine
Care that travels.
Travel is a special interest for Dr. Jamie Kahn. Years of visiting remote destinations, many of them as a diver, have taught her what it takes to plan for health needs far from home, and what to do when something goes wrong there.
How Meridian helps travelers
- Before the trip: a physician review of health needs, medications, records and the care available at the destination
- Traveling for care: preparing for second opinions, specialty treatment or clinical trials in another city or country
- Traveling for life: helping people with serious or chronic illness travel with confidence, for family milestones or a long-awaited vacation
- A home away from home: for families who spend part of the year in Mammoth Lakes or another second home, coordinating with the local hospital and physicians, arranging medical equipment and home support, and keeping care connected between both places
- Travel accompaniment: a physician who travels with the patient and family, to advocate, coordinate and be there if plans change
Training & experience
- DAN/UHMS Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine Course, Divers Alert Network and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, Philippines, 2026
- SSI Stress & Rescue Diver, Scuba Schools International, 2026
- Has led dive emergency discussions for dive communities abroad, including in Roatán, Honduras, and the Azores, Portugal
Community
Giving back to the South Bay.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Jamie Kahn has been a member of Sandpipers since 2015. The all-volunteer women's philanthropic organization has supported South Bay families since 1931.
During four years on the Sandpipers board, she held several leadership roles, including Vice President of Philanthropy, Vice President of Fundraising and Director of the Holiday Homes Tour. As Vice President of Philanthropy, she worked directly with Sandpipers' community agency partners and advocated for emergency casework support for families in crisis. Her work has also supported the Back to School Shopping and Holiday Baskets programs for local children and families. She now serves on the Steering Endowment Committee.
